ABOUT
Kate Barker (b.1974) is a contemporary artist based in South Devon, UK.
With over 15 years experience she has an established arts practice and studio by the coast.
Kates' themes include the coastal landscapes of Devon and Cornwall, urban architectural landscapes and wild botanical elements found in nature. Her work combines the mediums of drawing , painting and printmaking.
Kate trained at Exeter College of Art and Design and Manchester, where she gained a 1st Class Degree in Textiles. Subsequently furthering her studies at the Art School of Bellas Arts in Valencia, Spain. Returning to London she further grew her printmaking skills with a 6 month traineeship at The LondonPrintStudios. Living in London, she established her own arts practice alongside working as an Artist Educator, realising projects with The V&A, Camden Arts Centre, and The Greenwich Maritime Museum. In 2005 Kate returned to Devon to focus on her arts practice full time. She has exhibited extensively in the UK with gallery representation including a number of galleries in the South West.
Her works are held in private collections throughout the UK, Europe, America and Australia.
