Kate Barker

She has a 1st Class Degree from Manchester and has studied at the acclaimed Faculty of Arts in Valencia, Spain. Kate has lived in many cities around the world including London,UK, Valencia, Spain, Jaipur, India and continues to travel widely; experiences that continue to inspire her work. She has recently returned from projects in Morocco and Sri Lanka.

Her current collections focus on Cities, Townscapes, Sea / Landscapes and Botanicals. Kate has an affinity for the ocean and its coastline, adoring the intricacies and quietude of nature whilst also seeking out the buzz and energy of cities. Her collections are dynamic and she works in the mediums of drawing, painting and printmaking.

Kate’s pen and ink drawings are elegant and fluid and lure the viewer in with their intricacy and shear scale. Her paintings capture the beauty and vibrancy of the Devon and Cornish coastline with a contemporary twist. She loves to work outside on location and her main concern is the total immersion of a place or her subject.

Her works are held in private collections throughout the UK, Europe, America and Australia.
